Starlight

Falling into fleeting time
As brilliant day cascades into night.
The heavens are of midnight satin,
Adorned in diamond roses,
Their velvet petals shimmering images
To see the moon smile in her reign.
They shine adrift in rivers,
Observing life as it happens
And gayly seek to give what they may
In the creation of life to come.
They pace on airy feet through the day;
An audience not to be noted.
Yet when the Black Knight fights to appear,
They shine in his linked armor
And onto our dreams.
