Below Heaven

The Night sky is black.

Common knowledge.

Common misconception.

The night sky

Is velvet upholstery

In a lilac hue

Covering the sky

Held up by stars.

How do I know?

I lay beneath it

Among the dust

And abandoned coins.

I now know why little children

check under their beds for monsters.

As we lay

under the bed

we destroy

all that is

around us

without a second

A monster lying under the bed

gnawing at the supports

unaware that the bed could ever fall

people say it with a negative connotation

Monsters look the same

Dress the same

Act the same

Think the same

If you are reading this you are one

I am one too.

As I lay beneath

the boxsprings of heaven

I think about

The End
