The idea of letting go

We would run to the orchard,
climb their tallest trees
and whoever found 
the highest apple
had won. 

Between spitting out 
the sour crunch of
cooking apples
and accidental
french kissing,
days were bittersweet
and sunstruck.

I knew in

these days,
