A child's slumber

There is nothing more enriching in life
than to have the slumber of a child
within the blink of an eye fall asleep
among the land of dreams to reside

ti's innocent and such a thing of beauty
with the mounting years we never regain
when each night we approach with dread
The sleep just never eases the pain

I truly can't remember the last time I slept
leaving everything else behind
How I long for just an hour of bliss
to bring peace to this troubled mind.

The End
