A Burning Shaft

My first attempt at serious poetry. Tell me how it goes.

I see him falling

Frantically calling

For his salvation.

It doesn't come.

Burning Bright

In Endless Night

Demons wait

For the first bite

I hear him scream

In fear

In pain

I step back

My courage wanes

Then a spark of bravery

Burns bright

I'll save this man from Hell tonight!

Wings of amber

I'll remember

Ever after

The night I faced the devil

And laughed

Leaving him in his Burning Shaft.

The End
