A Beautiful TuesdayMature

A poem I wrote a while ago sometime around Remembrance Day. Thank a Veteran for their service next time you see one, and remember those who gave their last full measure of devotion so as to keep you safe and free.

I remember it well,
A perfect hell,
Where whiskey sang,
A country Twang,
And we fell on the field,
Into the bloody yield,
We all agreed,
Oh what a beautiful Tuesday.
Into the breach we went,
Countless hours spent,
Looking into one thousand dreams,
Pierced by violent screams,
Of oh god please,
End suffering with ease,
And lay these men to rest,
On this beautiful Tuesday.
For those who fell,
Into that beautiful hell,
Forever they see,
That beautiful Tuesday.

The End
