the first time - hospital visits among sound

and the forest released me.

(divided into five pages - one for each incident)

a scream.
small hands clutch
ears that thrum with pain
and she continues,
her voice going raw and primal,
overflowing with terror
as her head ripped agony
from her hearing.

and then there was rustling,
footsteps landing urgently on floorboards,
a seatbelt and the car moving,
the sight of a hospital,
white white waiting room,
doctors' voices, low and important,
and her body goes still.
she will be okay.
(maybe her hearing will, too)

The End
