1 - Eve

Inescapably, we’ve been drawn in darker colours
against the vibrant explosions of a rustic sky.
I’ve gathered this contraband, shards of glistening
heart sand, kissed in our midnight hour.

Down by the water the moon is a stone’s
skim away, in your crushing topaz skin
bells ring and you’re mine under the dark
heliopause of this unfaltering night.

I’ll stand in your comforting shadow
for as long as your legs will allow.
Your voice is pressed against my
throbbing lobes, I hear you now.

Inevitably, we’ve been drawn in black
and back to back, it’s hard to concentrate
with all that colour shimmering in our souls.
We have time to call our own, under ruby skies.

The End
