The Beautiful Glaze

(Also composed 13th April)

Burnishing rays,
dreamiest daze,
vision like a haze:
the Beautiful Glaze...

In warm pools of gold,
where Nature's charms blaze,
relax, reminisce:
it's a summery phase.

In sunbeams which doze,
you're invited to float:
float free of the cage
of your limited gaze.
It's a time to embrace
every daydream you shun -
to indulge in the fun
of your wackier ways.

In warm pools of gold,
where Nature's charms blaze,
relax, reminisce:
it's a summery phase.

Like a boat in the sea,
anchored and still,
like a deckchair unfolded,
waiting to be used,
like a cat on a mat,
or the lawn, or your bed,
like that sun almost set,
luxuriate and laze.

In warm pools of gold,
where Nature's charms blaze,
relax, reminisce
it's a summery phase.

In this scene I adore,
where my mood is the sun's,
when you're free to admire
the sky, fields and trees,
the writers and artists
fill their blank page;
we all treat ourselves
to a summery phase.

The End
