Leaves of Autumn

The rain makes the leaves

secrete the scent of autumn

as they paint the ground-

the stories of trees.

The leaves see their reflections

in rippled puddles.

They wonder if it’s

as beautiful here as it

is flying up top.

People begin to

whisper above their desires

“No, of course it’s not.”

Reality finds

masses of colors. Crushes

them under her feet.

The End
