Sin: Envy

Your joyfulness waters my misery.
Your cheerful and bright green eyes.
Jealousy grows out of empathy.

I give you a hug and talk pleasantly,
but inside it’s really a guise.
Your joyfulness waters my misery.

I’ve known fleeting love in a fantasy,
and felt my heart swell up in size.
Jealousy grows out of empathy.

I've given up trying to be pretty.
(but my mirror could contest otherwise).
Your joyfulness waters my misery.

You were built fragile like me,
to well up when someone else cries.
Jealousy grows out of empathy.

And precisely from this capacity,
to sense how you feel - recognize:
Your joyfulness waters my misery.
Jealousy grows out of empathy.
