Gnashville

Languid traces of the consciousness
Offer themselves as funeral rites,
Serenading a maudlin memory,
Surrendering to the deeper night.
Opals, reft, are left baptized,
Free, they rest, to escape the sight.
As the spirit finds its vessel's bourn,
Lessened resistance, a kite unstrung.
Isolated, and when erelong death's
Feigned; perhaps eternities away,
Each of our souls will do without.

The End
