Locked Up Cartoon

My friend was once a cartoon
Who lived alone on the moon
Just as well, for his bassoon
Playing made him seem like a loon.

It was the first day in June
When I, approaching at noon,
Caught him with a harpoon
And wrapped him in a cocoon.

I go each day to the lagoon
With him to commune.
I marked the cocoon
Just in case, with a rune.

No fear, I’ll let him out soon.

The End
