The entire reason for this day, which was started by the National Council of Teachers of English, is to "recognize the importance of writing in the lives of us all." We may not realize it, but writing is a part of our everyday lives, in some form or another. We send text messages and emails, we write letters, we turn in essays we've slaved over for hours... Everyone in today's world should consider themselves writers in some respect. We already do because writing is what we love to do. We recognize the importance of writing in our personal lives.
What I'm interested in hearing from you all as fellow young writers, is one of the key questions of the National Day on Writing.
Why do YOU write?
Same with writing. You don't realise how much fun it is 'til you get Block and can't find any words in your head for anything.
I'm really not kidding, but I could possibly have a tiny chance of living if I didn't write.
But really, truly, I write for that "in another world" feeling that comes with every sentence. I write for the chills I get when I have a good idea that I've just started. I write for the awe-inspiring fantasy that is creating characters that come to life.
And that is why I write.
I love the feeling I get when I put pen to paper and all the thoughts buzzing around in my head come to life, and create things that are totally new to me and the world.
I see writing as like having a child. Its a part of you forever, and is special, amazing and fun.
That's why I write. Its exciting and fun
I almost allways get ideas at some point!
I always wished I'd have epic adventures. My writing brings them out.

@LoneWriter That was so...for lack of a better word, beautiful. I believe that sometimes people can say and explain things you are feeling better than even you can yourself. And I think that's what you did there, because that's exactly how I feel. I tell the paper things I could never tell anyone else. I write down words I wouldn't dare speak for fear of well...just out of fear. I just get things out better that way. That's probably why I write my prayers.
I love these, you all! <3
