I am thrilled you started this group! Its such an amazing idea!
Anyway, on to my question. How do I post my works to this group? I tried on the read I believe, and it was wanting me to write the whole story again! Not gonna happen. :)
Yay! I'm so glad! *claps excitedly* And since you're the first person to join the group, you get a shiny award. *hands trophy* ;)
Getting to the point now hehe...
You have to go back to the first page of your story - Father to the Fatherless. Then there should be a small silver button-like device under the title that says "Actions". Click on it and then select "Add or remove from group". Search through the list of groups in the box that pops up for "The Protagonize Revelations" and then click on the + sign. :)
It should get added on here.
If you want to double check, come back to the group and click on the "Read" tab and your story should be there.
Ah, then I'll fix the group to be for a mature audience as well. It should be actually. I'll pop by your profile and tell you once I've made it mature so you could try again.
Instead of awkwardly starting a new post, I'd thought I'd add to this one as what I want to say is more or less about posting.
I have browsed through the works linked to this group, and they have made me consider writing my own autobiography-thingy. The problem is, I'm a little nervous...
When I'm writing fiction I can shape my tales into whatever style I want, my characters can be whoever I choose them to be. Whereas, when it comes to non-fiction, I'm a fairly poor writer. (As you can see from this comment, I do waffle on a bit - so prepare yourself for a good deal more. :P)
But it's not just the challenge. Or the fact that my life isn't that exciting atm.<That's where embellishing comes in handy. ;D The main reason why I'm so nervous is because it's slightly more personal than a fictional story. As some of you may also feel, it's quite difficult to accept harsh critique on a novel that's taken ages and heavily influenced by personal life events, but critique on a personal account seems more like judgment. Also, if someone is not interested or bored by a story, fair enough. If someone feels that way about someone else's life, it's slightly more insulting.
Anyway, apologies for my ramblings. Any advice would be much appreciated. (:
It does sometimes feel that way, but part of me doesn't really care about the critiques or what other people think. This is YOUR story. You don't have to listen to those who critique you, because sometimes they'll be just plain mean. What also helped me is looking at my story like someone looking in, but with the ability to feel all the emotions you feel. It made it easier to write, and I was near the end able to put myself back in my shoes.
I hope this helps......I feel like in rambling too now :D
The most important thing about letting out your story is not about caring what you accomplish as a writer when you do so. Or that applies to me, if some of you don't agree with that. I just write my heart out and it doesn't matter to me whether or not it's a literary piece, or whether I've used the best skills in my writing. I think the most heartfelt works are the ones that come out as the best, and most beautiful pieces at the end of the day.

I agree with her. Maybe it does seem a little scary to be critiqued on your own life story but if someone really does that against the content of your story, that's just plain STUPID. And I said that in capital letters because it's just REALLY stupid. ;)
Experiences shape us up to be who we are and letting people know yours is not a wrong thing to do. So if anyone really does critique your story and is just being mean, the best thing to do is to ignore.
But the Protag community is amazing and a friendly bunch so I really doubt anything of that sort will happen. :)
I hope this helps and that you do write your story. :)

I'm so excited!!!
:D Let's hope it works. *fingers crossed*
Ok, I tried to do that, but it said it was ineligible to post to this group.
Any suggestions? :D
Thank you dear :)
I'm so happy to see that you're contributing to the group. I really hope it won't die away. :D
Also, quick question; is the story completed? Because you haven't been updating it recently.
No pressure though. :)
If you are interested though, there's a read tab in the group and you can add your story to it, by starting it frrom scratch. Just a heads up. :)
