Is anyone interested in starting a collab with either a Christian message, a modern take on a bible story/character or something to that effect?

I saw Cassandramorrow tried to set one up a few months back and so here I am trying again. I've not really had any ideas, but we can discuss and plan below! :)

Let me know what you think! And invite anyone else you know who might be interested :) A fair amount of protaggers are Christian and perhaps we can use this to the glory of God? x
Hey Kiri!
It sounds great and I would join if I could but I'm so loaded up with school work and collabs on my side. It's pretty busy for me so I'm afraid I won't be able to join. But I would definitely be reading the story if it starts up. ;)
Hiya!
Thanks very much for thinking of me, but I'm afraid, like Trish, I have way too much going on on the workload front, and I'm collaborating on a novel off-site that we want to have finished and published by the end of the year. Sorry about that!

- Spook
End of the year? Spook, Mark wants it out in ebook in April and print in August! *grin* This is the epub world - it moves fast!

Anywayyyyyy. Yeah, I'm afraid I'm just like the others. I hardly ever come onsite any more because I'm just so busy with school, ballet and music. However I finish in mid-June this year and then haven't got that much on until September (aside from music, dance and holiday) so if something was going then, I could perhaps join in.
Hmm... I might consider it if I a few other people join in. It'd depend on the type of story, of course, and how often I'll have to post...
I would love I join! I like the idea of a modern Bible story. I've had many of those come along throughout my reading...
Hey! I am so sorry to post so late! But I would LOVE to do a Christian collab! :D Thanks for thinking of me! What were you thinking of doing?
Hey cool so that's 3 confirmations which I think will be enough! WOOO!

I'm not feeling very dictator-like right now, so go ahead and let me know what you guys want to do.

We have some options
- Christian Bible Story retold in a modern take
- Bible Story from different perspective
- Story of someone becoming a Christian
- Story of a miracle

There's some ideas, feel free to add more! :)
I REALLY like the idea of a Bible story from a different perspective...what if we did something from the perspective of a character who's usually considered a "bad" person from the Bible?

And I also love the idea of a Bible story, retold in a modern take. That sounds really cool!

I probably wouldn't shoot for the second two, but I'll do whatever! So if most people vote for ideas 3 and 4, I'll still write! :)
I do think, however, that we should first make sure that everyone can post fairly frequently. Collaborating becomes a burden when some people aren't as committed as others.

What do y'all think? :)
Wow speedy reply (Y) Good one :)

How about we combine both? We'll tell it from the perspective of a "bad" guy and in modern times?

I was thinking Adam and Eve, but that's kinda hard to make modern... It would be good fun though to write about temptation and stuff. Maybe we could give it a go?

Yeah I can write fairly frequently, not so sure about Hunger though...x
Ahhh...I love it! :D :D :D What a good idea to combine the two!

What kinds of stories do you think would work? Adam and Eve would be wonderful! Another idea I've been thinking about is writing from the perspective of Saul (as in the Hebrew king gone awry, not Saul-Paul guy :) ) or Delilah or even Manasseh! But I do think Adam and Eve would be great, as long as we could find ways to make it original and interesting! :D

I have to go downstairs and eat some lunch, so I'll have to bid y'all adieu. I'll be back soon enough! :)
Mary Magdalene wasn't really a baddy but she wasn't respected by lots of disciples.

Jezebel?
Judas?

You confused me a bit there! I was like, "Why is she eating lunch at 7pm?" Then I realised you're probably not from the UK... :P Oops!

It's totally up to you, I don't mind either way :) x
:D I really like the idea of Mary Magdalene! And if we could figure out a way to do Jezebel, that'd be fantastic, too! My only thought is that I'd feel kind of sacreligious writing a piece from Judas' point of view, because I think it would be a little hard to portray a Jesus character. :) But if you think we could pull it off, then sure!

What do y'all think, @Hunger and @Shally16 ? :)
I like all of the ideas! I just have a thought to slide in.

What about the story of Jacob, Rachel, and Leah? I was reading it earlier and kinda felt bad for Leah. Just a thought, I don't really care. I also like the idea of Mary, so I'm cool either way. :D
Ahhh! That would be SO cool to do one of Jacob, Rachel, and Leah! What a great idea!

If we do it during Bible times, we'd have to make sure our information is correct. It would probably require a good amount of research, in order to make the story believable. I'm fine with that, but I don't know if everyone would want to devote so much time to the story. I definitely would be okay with that, but I just thought I'd point that out :)

I'm up for anything! :D
It wouldn't have to be during Bible times. It might be fun to do a modern twist. Though I also wouldn't mind doing research. Whatever everybody else says.
Yeah research is good. It's always great to learn/relearn bible stories and we can deepen our knowledge which will be fun!

So what's the consensus? Which character to choose?
I like all of them! But I personally like the idea with Jacob. I think with that one we could include more people but still keep it mostly true to the story, whether we set it in Bible times or modern.
Question: if we were to do Jacob, how would he have two wives in a modern-day setting? :)
