Is everyone looking forward to it? Sharon and I are really quite excited about some of the challenges we have in store for you guys.
I've never done this sort of thing before, so it should be interesting. I'm a bit nervous though. What if the magic cobra (a metaphor for inspiration) doesn't strike? that would be ... tragic.
I operate on EST (Eastern Standard Time), so I'll be posting the first challenge at 3:00pm my time. We're 3 hours ahead of Vancouver. Not to worry about the cobra striking. The first one is easy - and fun. There will be two samples to tease your muse with. Elzu and I are good to go right now, but we have to stick by our own rules, don't we? *sigh* Waiting is the hard bit.
Moon
Yeah, waiting is hard. At least you won't have been up for more than ten hours before the first challenge.

If it's any consolation, it's seven hours to the challenge start from where I live. It seems like ten hours, though.
Vancouver is in British Columbia, on the West Coast, along the Pacific ocean shore of Canada. That's where Nick, our 'grand poohbah master' hangs his hat, as well as where many of our Protag brothers and sisters live. PST (Pacific Standard Time ) covers the entire West Coast of North America. That includes the United States. It doesn't go down as far as Mexico. So I guess it's just Canada and the U.S. that has PST.
Moon
Yeah, seven hours is a consolation, and I can't complain because I have stuff to do, stories to add to. It would only really bother me if they were ten hours of boredom. :D
Is that a cat in your profile pic? Cats are my fave animals. :D
Yes, his name's Rufus. I Iove cats too. I have a little corner in my house with a small table, and a wall shelf full of cerimic, wooden and bean bag cats. I call it my 'kitty corner' . Rufus is gorgeous. He weighs one more pound then our dog, haha. Awhile back I wrote some stories for kids about Rufus. If you're interested, you can find it here:

I'll be posting the challenges here on this discussion thread as well. Don't forget to email Elzu your poem when you're done. When he receives your poem, he'll give you your poet number. You'll be using the same email you used to confirm.
Tournament Challenges
Now that we have officially begun this amazing tournament, lets have some fun! You'll only have five lines, so drag your sense of humour out, and make us all laugh. This challenge is the easiest one you'll get in this tournament, so enjoy.
Challenge one
Difficulty: Easy
Form: Limerick
A Limerick is a humorous or witty five line poem in anapestic meter (two short, unstressed syllables, and one long, stressed syllable) with a strict rhyme scheme of AABBA. Lines 1,2, and 5 have seven to ten syllables. Lines 3 and 4 have five to seven syllables
Specifics:
Write a limerick on the subject of your pet peeves. Be as funny as you can, make us all laugh right out loud, but please keep it clean.

Cool. This Tournament is the biggest so far, in terms of people involved, correct?
Moon
The last tournament had about 32, so I don't think so
When will poet numbers be assigned, and when will we be notified of these numbers?
