Okay, then. Something violent, dark, and witty. Let's get crackin'.

Alright back from school, now onto ideas...

We want to do a dark, gritty violent colab so we can do perhaps...
1. a serial killer vs. veteran cop with a not so heroic past?
2. An assassin takes out the leader of (insert country here) and pins the assassination on ( person/organization/country) inciting a war that both countries never wanted.
3. Something Sci-fi-ish where a clan of aliens begins to terrorize the human population and the only way to stop them is to enlist help from another type of alien/human group.
4. The government has developed the ability to trace memories in peoples genes, but they want to find a (artifact or special secret weapon) to combat the growing war threat with (insert combatant group/country here). So they find an agent that they had eneded his carrer due to all the nuerological and psychological tests.
5. Something like Call of Duty: Black Ops 1.

Thats all the ideas I have so far. :)

Okay, I'll respond to each.

1. Eh... That would be as much of a mystery story as a violent story. I'm no good at mysteries.
2. So, would we be soldiers fighting in this war?
3. Well... I almost hate to say it... I would totally go for this one. Although, I would probably say simplify things and make the setting Mass Effect. I mean, premade aliens, potential alliances already available...
4. So, something like Assassin's Creed, basically? But possibly without all the acrobatics and hidden blades and stuff?
5. I believe that you mean our characters would be part of the CIA's Special Activities Division Special Operations Group (SAD SOG)? And then lots of people would die?

And I'll throw some ideas out.
6. Our characters are gunfighters in the old west.
7. Something like Ghost Recon Future Soldier.

That's pretty much all I have currently.

Out of all the ideas, I'd have to go with either ...

6. maybe something like tombstone or a dark gritty western with murder, vice, money, lawlessness and disaster.

or

5. Yea pretty much SAD SOG, except maybe the russians arent the badguys perhaps they're the victims enlisting the help of the us government secretly?? just an idea towards that plot line

Hmmm... okay, let's expand each a bit more, shall we.

6. Okay, my character would be much more of a rifle user than a greased lightning gunslinger. Maybe our characters could be lawmen trying to bring peace and civilization to the West.

5. Well, technically, we could do SOG nowadays if we wanted. But, in the sixties/seventies, I dunno what to do. Especially trying to help the Russians. Maybe a coup by some extremists who want nuclear war, and we have to help reinstate a less hostile regime?

Hmm, I like the western idea better, an perhaps my character is a infamous gunslinger, (more towards pistols and mid range weaponry, with the occasional knives) He has a bad run in with the law and ends up giving up most of his evil ways yet clinging to his vices (whoring, drinking, gambling) as a way to keep himself sane. He somehow ends up running into your character (perhaps they have a past history thats not so pretty?) and they have to combat some great evil (probably a large gang of cowboys who have been robbing and killing across the west without discression) and many smaller ones (indians, wildlife, crooked lawmen and townsfolk, cattle groups)

What'd you say?

I'd say that sounds great. Definitely the one we should go with. Perhaps your character was wanted by the law and my character went after him.

I'm moving in and getting oriented at Purdue, so I don't know how often I'll be on. We'll have to see how this goes.

If we can work on fine tuning until Wednesday, I should have enough time on Thursday to get the story posted. That would be awesome. As is, I think I'm gonna drop in bed and pass out for a while.

But on that note, I love it here! Boiler up!

Just click...... post..... *click* zzzzzz....

Okay, just making sure we are both on the same page, here.

My character is a lawmen who favors long guns.
Your character is a former outlaw who still has his vices.
We will be teaming up to fight off outlaws or indians or something.

I think that we should have our setting be one town and the surrounding area. The issue will start with raids on outlying ranches.

So, I'm thinking that to start this off, you ride into town, my character confronts yours about his past. So, uh, name, general description, please?

About this group

For those interested in outlining and discussing specific ongoing storylines.

Sometimes simply using the comments area to refine a story's plot, sending private messages to co-authors to discuss characters, or updating the author guidance with setting information isn't quite enough.

If you have an elaborate, complex tale — be it solo or collaborative — come by the Planning & Brainstorming group to storyboard, outline, annotate, draft, and discuss your work's plot, characters, setting, history, intrigue, or anything that comes to mind.

Please try and keep all discussion topics you create centered around a single work!

Note: The intention is to move all story-related discussions in this group into "Story Wikis" (a new feature, currently in planning) down the road, so please use this group instead of posting new works to discuss backstory/characters/story meta-information.
