For those interested in outlining and discussing specific ongoing storylines.
Sometimes simply using the comments area to refine a story's plot, sending private messages to co-authors to discuss characters, or updating the author guidance with setting information isn't quite enough.
If you have an elaborate, complex tale — be it solo or collaborative — come by the Planning & Brainstorming group to storyboard, outline, annotate, draft, and discuss your work's plot, characters, setting, history, intrigue, or anything that comes to mind.
Please try and keep all discussion topics you create centered around a single work!
Note: The intention is to move all story-related discussions in this group into "Story Wikis" (a new feature, currently in planning) down the road, so please use this group instead of posting new works to discuss backstory/characters/story meta-information.
So Jamm and I have already discussed an idea which is this (I copied and pasted the comment because I'm lazy):
None of our characters know each other. We all go to a summer camp. Except it's sort of like a camp where most people send their kids when they want to get rid of them, like the kids who have a bad attitude or get in to trouble etc. So camp is a little strict and obviously there will be lots of rules to be broken; sneaking off, getting drunk, going to the lake to swim at midnight blah blah blah... what do you think? We could see the school stereotypes and groups all put in to a camp, which means none of those boundaries you find in collabs about schools where you have to do everything in school because they'd never see each other outside of it.
So guys, I know it's NaNo time but this is our special group! So... please?
Well I'm writing my bio now, creating a complex character, so you could all do that! Just waiting for Dotty now!

Name: Bianca (Bee) Lewis
Age: 19
Personality: Very outgoing. Her nickname speaks for itself, she is the queen bee with her friends circulating around her, even though she doesn't really see them as 'close friends' but 'hangers on' Has been smoking since she was about twelve, by snatching cigarettes from her dads packet. Had a brief spell in Juvy after several convictions of stealing. Bee's parents send her to camp to try and put their daughter back on the straight and narrow.
Looks: Tall, olive complexion, pitch black hair down to the small in her back which is always tied in a ponytail. Face caked in makeup. Appearance: Long black curly hair, blue eyes, slim, 5"8, fair complexion. Has a nose stud and a tattoo of a music note on her ankle. Never wears dresses or skirts.
Personality: Generally acts cool and in charge. She has a way of rallying support just by her general attitude. She likes to take herself off on her own occassionally to indulge her hobbies like photography and playing the guitar.
Background: Never did drugs or smoked or drank for that matter. She generally gets in trouble for her attitude and her ability to cause fights and thefts, even if she doesn't actually perform the acts. Her parents are wealthy and travel a lot, but became fully aware of the situation when they arrived home to find the house trashed after a party that had happened the night before, and a bundle of messages from her school complaining about her behaviour. They have sent her to camp to keep her out of trouble and straighten her out over the summer.
Age: 19
Appearance: The peak of physical fitness. Brown hair that is slightly longer than would be conventional but suits him. Deep dark blue eyes with a wicked smile. Muscular without looking like a bodybuilder. Has a faint scar along his right arm.
Personality: Knows that he is good looking. Considered by many to be charming and charismatic, he is very manipulative and seductive. Seen as a bit of a sexual predator by other guys who think he is too much competition. Has a limited sense of humour. Sees himself as leader of the pack so does not do what he is told. Spends his spare time swimming in his pool or making music with his band that he expects will be famous any day now.
Why he is at camp: His parents died when he was young but he does not tell anyone this. He is supposed to be looked after by his wealthy aunt but she is more interested in living her own life and so has hired someone to watch over him. She has been with Cayden since he was seven and feels like an older sister to him. She hopes that the camp will give him a better understanding of how to treat both women and authority figures.

Appearance: Having grown up in Indonesia his skin is permanently tanned and hair bleached blond by the sun, his blue eyes and dark red lips compliment his complexion. 6Ft2 and neither weedy or muscular.
Personality: A care-free, easygoing guy. He is spontaneous and rarely makes plans for more than a week in advance. He was home schooled by his mother as Indonesian schools did not seem to offer the education his mother wanted him to have. His parents own hotels all across Indonesia and the all-inclusive free bar meant that Zac regularly became drunk with tourists and his actions caused much damage to the hotel. His love of surfing filled most of his free time and he longs to return to Bali, British surf just isn't the same.
Why he is at camp: Zac's parents and siblings (two older brothers, 21 & 24) still reside in Indonesia. Zac has been sent to England to go to university, having spent his first year at London School of Economics he was planning on staying with his Grandma over the summer. Her sudden death and Zac's increased alcohol consumption at university (he spent his saved money on drink, instead of a plane ticket home) resulted in him signing himself up to Summer Camp. He is one of the few campers who want to be there...plus he heard something about surfing there.

PS - my chapter has started at Zac's Grandma's funeral and so he's not at the camp yet, is that okay? x
