Cool :) Just thought it would be humorous. I was thinking they could be helper bots or something along that lines. For home use, etc.

Yeah but why would the Daleks do that? What would they get out of it?

Well, a Dalek in every home in an entire city, maybe even in every home in America. They could exterminate almost every human in a single night. Plus, they lulled us into a false sense of security by acting as 'helper bots'.

Wouldn't they be able to do that without needing to deceive us...? I suppose it depends on their overall motives really....

Should I toss the whole idea...?

No! We just need to work it through... Make sure that it makes sense... I suppose they could be doing it to try to keep an eye on people and maybe manipulate them to get what they want...?

That sounds plausible...
What do they want? Other than messing up Earth's history that is...

I thought they were trying to encourage a nuclear war to create a new Dalek race but that doesnt sound right anymore...

Hmm...
Destruction of the earth perhaps? For revenge against the Doctor?
All those mishaps all through time could cause some kind of chain reaction that could benefit them in some way....

As long as we figure out how they'd benefit then its fine :)

I got it! Well..maybe...
Okay, I read this graphic novel (Doctor Who) the other day and it talked about the Daleks in a war against the humans. Eventually, the humans won. What if the Daleks knew their fate and decided to erase the Earth from ever existing in an attempt to save themselves? Hence the history errors such as dinosaurs in the wild west, etc.

And make it look like something else had done it...? That way any vengeful force trying to change history back and save the Earth wouldn't target the Daleks... So the Reapers (Father's Day 2005) wouldn't come for them and the Doctor wouldn't automatically blame them and since there are so many changes, if one of them doesn't work, which they won't due to the Doctor + Co's intervention, there's something else that could and when that all fails, the Daleks come out in the open and try to do it directly...?

....Sounds like a good plan to me :)

So is that it then? Have we covered absoloutely everything?

I'd like to think so but I suspect that we haven't... Everytime we ask that question something else pops up...

Alright. Any problems with the beginning? Up to when they get split up?

The only things I can think of are:

What will the planet Dunakis be like?
What kind of aliens are doing the documentary at the dawn of man?
And the alien technology people mistake for 'magic' in medieval times.
Also, how does the battle take place in which Serenata dies, and why are they fighting? Who is fighting? Aliens against humans? What kind of aliens?

After all that, I believe we've sorted it all out ;)

I was expecting maybe one question... :L
Ok... Here we go.

1) Dunakis will be a pleasure planet. Imagine a beautiful Caribbean island that is the entire planet... So the family will go there for a rest and the chance to relax so spas and beaches and that kind of stuff...

2) We're talking about humanoid aliens that are a little bit different so maybe taller and thinner with a different colour skin... Effectively they will be like a comedy documentary crew but aliens... Maybe slightly more exaggerated aliens with some huge difference that Flora is a bit sarcy about...

3) Teleportation guns... Ray guns... For some reason guns spring to mind...

4) Humans + Sere and River vs. Humans + angry aliens - maybe have an alien race that has faced the Doctor before... Not the Sontarans though since then it would be a complete ripoff of The Time Warrior... Maybe the Urbankans or the Malus...? Rutans? Drahvins? Blathereen? They'd have to be humanoid otherwise they'd think they were demons and probably wouldn't trust them...
P.S. Feel special. I just thought through the entire history of Doctor Who to find the appropriate alien race. Now my head hurts.

-facepalm- sorry about that...
And yes, I feel very special LOL
I wasn't sure what your idea of a 'pleasure planet' was, so that's cleared up...
Guns make sense.

As for Urbankans, Malus, Rutans, Drahvins, Blathereen - I'm going to have to look those up, because the only ones I recognize are Rutans and Sontarans :/

By the way, what is the meaning of :L

No problem :)

It's best that you check :)

Well guns would seem magical...

Well I'm not going to make things too easy for you :P Blathareen are like Slitheen effectively...

:L is the shortened version of LOL :)

About this group

For those interested in outlining and discussing specific ongoing storylines.

Sometimes simply using the comments area to refine a story's plot, sending private messages to co-authors to discuss characters, or updating the author guidance with setting information isn't quite enough.

If you have an elaborate, complex tale — be it solo or collaborative — come by the Planning & Brainstorming group to storyboard, outline, annotate, draft, and discuss your work's plot, characters, setting, history, intrigue, or anything that comes to mind.

Please try and keep all discussion topics you create centered around a single work!

Note: The intention is to move all story-related discussions in this group into "Story Wikis" (a new feature, currently in planning) down the road, so please use this group instead of posting new works to discuss backstory/characters/story meta-information.
