I just found this site, so I wanted to say hello to everyone. My Name is Will, and I've been writing for a while now, but I haven't found a community yet that worked out for me. I tried more than a few like Booksie, Authonomy, Scribophile, Fanstory --you name it. Most of them didn't seem very well thought out or gimmicky or just out and out poorly executed.

I have to say that I'm encouraged by this one and I hope Protagonize proves to be a better fit. I'm not shy about critiquing and I'm a fairly good writer, so don't be afraid to say hello. I'll be spending the next few days putting my writing projects online here, so bear with me. I have one full length novel finished (First Draft, anyway...) and I'm working on The Second Coming of Mike so I keep pretty busy. Most times, I will try to make time for a good honest critique, but I try to stay within my chosen genres. Anyway, Hello everyone!

Hello there Will, and welcome to Protagonize! I hope you like it here - seems there are some lovely folks on this site (I'm fairly new myself). I can tell you that there's plenty of good writing lurking in the pages aroundabouts here - dig a little, you'll find some gems. Enjoy! :) And of course I myself, I'm always delighted to read new material. As a reader I'm more into sci-fi than fantasy and horror, but if I have time, I do read 'out of genre' if I find the style of writing to be engaging and interesting. I tend to be fairly direct with my critiques, working from the philosophy of "all information is good information", and then I trust the writer to use their discretion about whether they agree with my point of view, or not. Because sometimes personal taste does factor into my feedback a lot more strongly than I'd like to admit: I'd have you think I was completely objective and fair and in the least qualified to give anyone feedback on their work (when I'm not, really)! But I do love to read. :)
