So basically I was wondering what might happen to protag if these bills are passed? Will it have any effect here? If so what kind of effect? Should I be worried? What are your thoughts on the who deal?
At any rate it should be interesting to discuss.
Chimera.
At any rate I don't think protag would be shut done, but I'm curiouse to what will be affected.

clears it up a bunch that it has stopped and moved to the back. However in the future might become a problem if redrafted.
CNet has an excellent FAQ about how SOPA/PIPA could affect you (and sites like Protag) here:

Protagonize would probably be somewhat safe from this kind of legislation as we have pretty stringent copyright enforcement. I'm no expert about the bill, but being "collateral damage" or unfairly targeted seems like the most obvious way it could impact the site directly. Unfortunately, from what I've read, even an unfounded allegation of copyright infringement could be enough to enact SOPA blacklisting (even if it's later revoked) on a site like Protagonize, which is pretty concerning.
That said, Protag depends on plenty of other 3rd party web-based tools and services that could be much more easily affected, so a trickle-down effect seems much more likely.
A little moot at this point (until they re-draft it, at which point this may all start up again), but I'm sure Hollywood is bound to try something similar again in the not-so-distant future.
Cheers,

that was really helpful.
