New Members

I looked at the Protagonize pub in the spirit of talking to people and getting involved in the community etc. as recommended, but I can't tell whether people are just really informal here or if they're all already really good friends. I'm English - I can't join a conversation where I'm not wanted! I don't want to butt in between close mates whom I've never talked to before, but I do want to join in. Help!

Heyy, i joined the "overheard at the protagonize pub" discussion 14 pages in. I'm English too, i just sort of sidled in and said hi. I think everyone else is just really friendly here :)

We're just informal, a little wack and Protag addicted and rather friendly :) 'Course, some of us end up making a few good friends while exploring the community but we love to have new people to talk to :D You're not not wanted anywhere, so just join in, we don't mind. Maybe help us make it a little crazier than it already is? If that's possible.

I'm English too and I can safely say you can just inject yourself into anywhere without out causing much offense. We're all pretty friendly here and to be honest, if a discussion is meant to be private, well, putting it in a public forum wasn't the greatest idea was it, so tough. Besides, if the rare case comes up where you are intruding, the worst that can happen is that you you get told as much by the people there and there are plenty of other things to talk about and people to talk to.

In short, jump in, you'll be welcome one way or another.

Thanks for the advice, guess I was worrying over nothing. I'm not really used to any website but facebook to be honest, so I find this whole thing a little more baffling than is reasonable.

Also thanks Darkliquid for your comment on my chapter of your story (being completely internet-illiterate, I've no idea whether there's somewhere specific I'm meant to respond to it, but oh well). You're quite right, I was rushing it far too much, probably because I wanted to contribute something imaginative without writing too much on someone else's story. I hope I didn't truncate your plans for the plot too much.
