Here's what I'm thinking:
We pick a month. Let's say February.
We team up. Let's say in groups of four.
Then each team collaboratively writes a novel in the month.
Team member #1 (or TM1 for short) writes the daily word target on day one. Let's say we're aiming for 50k again, just... we just are, okay? So that's 1786 if we pick February. As soon as TM1 hits the word count, they stop and post chapter 1. Even if it's mid-sentence.
TM2 then reads chapter one and has until the end of day two to post chapter two, same rules.
Then it's TM3's turn, then TM4, then we go back to TM1.
So, in this example, each team member would write seven chapters and at the end of the month would have contributed to a novel. I suppose there's no harm if the story isn't done at the end of the month, but I think it would be fun to have that as a goal.
Sign up in groups of four (or however many), discuss the story as much or as little as you want beforehand, see where it takes us.
Yeah, I'm missing NaNoWriMo a little. But not so much that I want to do this:
a) in January
or
b) by myself any time before next November
Besides, I've got other things planned for January. February seems reasonably far enough away but really, four (or whatever) people could team up and pick any month they want. It would just be more fun if we did it together, is all.
Is anyone else interested in this sort of thing?
Good idea, Eloo. Gosh, Protagonizers are so full of good ideas!!!
That aside, it's a cool idea. I've got too much editing to do, however, so I'll pass on it this time.
Foggie
p.s. one of the hardest 'no's ever.
I was just curious to see if anyone else would be game. We can decide on another month when more people have free time... I'd be happy to do it whenever, April, May, I don't care too much (at the moment).
Sod school work :) this'll be waaay more fun.
(p.s. FUUUUUUUN!)
=]
And I'm going to second @Faltar as well... too much editing to do. Brilliant idea though and I'll totally be cheer-leading =D
Seriously? Did you really hurt your wrist that bad? Oh my God.
Heh, sorry. I didn't actually think at the time how horrible it would be for my wrist to type that much in a single night. Awesome job on the 10k day! I'm glad to know I inspired someone through my madness lawl.
