I am doing it, and was hoping to start this same July, but it seems like the Camp site won't be ready by then. :o Maybe in August, since that's the easiest month of the second semester for students here - we're just getting started! I'd rather avoid it during the final exams while I can.

Edit: Hey! It seems like the camp is really starting on July 1st? http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/4035881

Ooo... that does look promising. Thanks for the link, Arwym.

I've decided to try and write 1,000 words a day for the month of July, whether or not I'm doing it through Camp Nanowrimo. I've got my characters figured out... but I'm down to the crunch trying to decide on my plot.

I think I'm going for YA / Detective / treasure hunt / urban fairy-tale. Dunno. I think it could be fun.

What genera are you folks writing in?

The madness has already begun and I've started posting my Camp NaNo novel on Protag:

It's historical fantasy, romance, a bit of politics - kinda a mish of all sorts of different stuff.
Yep. I did the July one, which ended up being random gibberish, and my Augno one is gonna be about mermaids.
I have a stupid question. Is NaNoWriMo about reaching the 50k word count or finishing the novel? I haven't reached my 50k yet, but I will tonight. And even though I will reach the 50k, my story is not finished. Maybe I will write a bit over 50k.

What's nano about? Reaching the 50k words (regardless if you finish or not) or finishing the story (with a minimum of 50k words)?
@LuneXian It's about reaching the word count, not finishing the novel.
