Who's got to the editing stage? If so, you might have come across a few gems born of over-caffeinated, sleep-deprived writing ... feel free to share them here. You might have been driven mad by spending an hour on one scene, perfecting it and perfecting it only to find it still wasn't right. You might have started keeping an 'Editing Log Book', the only way you can persuade yourself to continue for more than ten minutes.

Or you've signed up for NaNoEdMo and are dreading it.

Either way, commiserate here. Share those terrible scenes and sentences. Offer tips on cutting out adverbs (please, please, offer tips). Talk with others that are failing. Shoulders to cry on ... etcetera, etcetera ...

Hehehe, I intend to do this myself ... by rewriting the whole blasted thing, bwua ha ha! xD

However, I am also editing something else, so I feel your pain too. So. Much. Passive. Voice. *dies*

I find it useful since it highlights all the passive voice! Yay! Obviously sometimes that doesn't work out because it can't understand style, being mechanical, but sometimes it can make you think, "Can I rephrase that?"

Yeah, I'm planning to get it to chew through my pet monster (which is now a lot smaller than it used to be!) so I can get rid of the really annoying bits. Thankfully most of it is done to satisfaction, but these last few pages are stretching my sanity ... couldn't 12-year-old me spell "embarrassed"?

I always get cunffuzled with conscience and being conscious and their various forms... I hate that ious sound too. dive my spelling bugg. I'm getting better though.

"Sometimes, when you're aiming for quantity over quality" ... where have we heard that before? Oh, NaNoisms! Yes. Let's share them.

Actually, I'm off to do some more editing now. I'm making myself keep a log of how long I edit for each day, to try and spend a little longer on it each day. I think it's working ... I only started it yesterday, though. hee hee :D
