Elorithryn is being the mega-planner and is down to tiny details, ditto with SpookOfNight. I'm a little way behind but I've worked out the first four chapters or so and I have a good stock of characters, though my later plot isn't quite complete.
On the other hand, Raina and Azoth, as far as I know, haven't planned at all. And last year I signed up on the 7th November with no plot, no characters: not even a genre! But then I managed to finish after just fifteen days, so ...
Don't worry, you're not crazy. But sometimes having a little bit of slack is better for NaNo since you don't end up getting stuck in a hole--you can just make it up.
Haha, fifteen days?! That's insane. Congratulations!

It's pretty crazy!
Don't be discouraged. We all get that sometimes. In fact, it's the best thing about NaNo: you write without thinking about it, without worrying, without editing ... I'd never finished anything before I did it and yet now I've written, like, five novels.
I'm really looking forward to NaNo!!
:D :D :D
Graaaah, it's getting closer... and I have my GCSE Mock exams in the same month!!! I'm going to die.... *giggles hysterically*
By the way, Spook, did you see my comments on your blog? I was wondering if you could return the favour...
I must see these...
I tend to find, that even if I have all knowledge of events, prior hand, and try to plan it, but have never done the event once--I still screw up, due to not entirely understand the culture around the events.
So, I do it the first time, as a dry run--then after that, planning tends to work out just fine--the first time... usually I just look really silly when I do what I planned.
