I want to progress in general, but I'm looking for help with Sixfoot in particular.
Well, for now, writing is a hobby, but in a long-winded way, I want it to become my career (game concept designer - thus, characterisation and plot are very important).
I need a mentor! Though I have already gotten some great feedback, thanks to those of you!
I very much want to be published in the future so I'm looking to improve with that in mind. I care about all my stories but the one I'm most focused on (quality wise) is Hostage. I am also writing Agoraphobia as an exercise. Even a casual glance would be oh so helpful to me. Thank you!
Teen looking for some help buffing out the roughs in my style. I don't need help in particular, but more in general on what I could do to improve as a whole. Motivation[meaning mine] would also help.
Really, what I'm looking for is a back-and-forth thing. You [meaning YOU, mentory person hopefully reading this] help me and I help you BACK. Back-and-forth like a spirited game of literary pong. Only with comments. Or whatever.
We can all learn from eachother, so even if you [meaning YOU, the mentoree-looking person; note spelling] wants a mentor, I'd be great with that too! A richochet off the gnarly word-work, a cuff on the ear to keep the other in form, back-and-forth and we both walk away better for it.
I would like to be paid for my work, that is my goal. I have a solo story that will eventually be a novel (I hope) I turned it into a screenplay for screen frenzy. I actually finished the required pages in time. The thing is, I've got Ghost Cop in two different places. It's in the Screenplay category, also in the Crime / Detective, Mystery / Thriller category. Any feedback on either one that will help make them publishable would be immensely appreciated.
@Sharon. The first part of your sentence made me giggle. It sounded like a demand, hehe, and I could picture you thumping the table with your fist. "I've been a member of this site for ages. Pay me, dammit!"
Sorry, overactive imagination at work. Silly Tricia :D
heyy people, i have a request (for some reason i almost typed that in French. weird).
anyways, i've been helping a new girl named Lauren find her way on the site, and she has a few posts up and is looking for both readers and collaborators. it'd be cool if at least one of you could take a look at the chapters by paperplanetrain, and maybe even point her in the direction of an established story that she might like to add to. i'm not well versed in things that aren't fantasy, so i have no clue where to nudge her.
thanks, guys! and gals! and people who prefer not to ascribe to collective nouns!
In general would be preferable, but I suppose I may need special attention on a story called Quest Of The Datateam, its' my first attempt at the genre, whichever genre it is. I must warn though, my main problem, as certain people here will definitely tell you, is "show and tell" and lack of conciseness.
I do actually want to be published, but one of my main motives is also to really give an outlet to my creativity. If I get paid along the way, great !

Really? ( Laughs) I had no idea I was so forceful. That might not be a bad thing. If brute force and ignorance gets me paid for my work, why not? Anyway, I would like help with either one of my Ghost Cop stories whether anybody pays me for it or not.
Well, coming from me this isn't a shocking request.
I'd like a mentor.
My goal is to either be an awesome graphic novelist or just a novelist. I believe I have the potential. I believe I have the imagination. I definitely have a grasp of action, perversion and mature storylines. While, in my real life, half the stuff that happens in my stories would never occur it is my belief that mass imagination will more than make up for that.
I need a mentor to help make my characters more human. Even when I write stories where humans are not extraordinary I have an issue with making them believable. Aside from that, whenever I write a story featuring females there is much to be desired. At least, in my opinion. A lot of people say that I'm way too hard on myself. I'm just not arrogant. I wouldn't dare suggest that I'm good enough to publish my works.
The storyline that I'm going with currently is the Get Even Series. It was a childhood dream to get this story published because I think it has all the elements for a good story.
If anyone is willing to take up the role of mentoring me into a famous author I'm more than willing to be groomed.
I would love a mentor... could anyone help with dialogue?? I'm a bit annoyed with my lack of reality. also I need a bit of a push toward my goals... if someone says, you've got to have it done by [set date eg. tomorrow] i guess I do stuff but if I do things too much just on my own accord I get bored... overseer/mentor/person with sharp pointed stick..... thank you!!!! One day I hope to publish - if my work is good enough and if I do the work... i want money from this writing hobby of mine! ps. all mentors enquire on my profile page. pss. I am naturally blonde so please speak S-L-O-W-L-Y! ppss. ok... I'm not stupid but no fancy discombobulated words!
I'm not sure how much I need one, I've come this far alone, and I've improved vastly, but I think I still need a little more guidance. I make some slip ups in grammar and I want to learn about the theoretical side of creative writing, because I've never really been taught, I've just picked up bits from here and there.
Well I would just like to gradually progress and learn how to better my writing and I think that a mentor would be wonderful to help me. I also wouldn't mind if my mentor would read through one of my stories and give me feedback.
I've been writing since the 5th grade and my writing is currently beyond that of a soon to be 9th grader( I start 9th grade in september). I just want to better my writing and fix those little mistakes that all writers have.
I hope to get my books published when I become older. That is my goal as a writer.
Im a young teenager looking to improve my overall writing skill. :) Im not really going for a particular style though, but as far as genres go I prefer fantasy, mystery/detective fiction, contemporary, and historical. I would like to eventually publish some of my stories and it would be nice to have my stories read by a mentor than receive feedback i guess. :)
I'm a young writer looking for some feedback. i've never shown anyone my writing before so i would like someone impartail to me so i can have real feedback.
but i would like to make friends as well so don't just cut me down
Hi I am a pretty new writer and i am looking for a mentor give me some feedback on my story, The Adventures of Rupert Moranne. I have already had some feedback which was great but i would like more regular comments. I write for a hobby, being 14 i have vague hopes of becoming and author, or something like that! My brother had a look at what i had done so far, but i would prefer someone who is more impartial. Thanks!!!
Hi, I've just started what will hopefully resemble something of a supernatural satire :) Any constructive critiscism would be much appreciated. Praise too ;) http://www.protagonize.com/story/once-upon-a-mindnumbingly-mediocre-morning Thank you x
Hey, My recent story Hugs & Kisses needs a little work to be done with it and I was wondering someone a little bit older and wiser could help me out with that part. I am rather terrible at spelling and grammar and it would reallly be nice if someone could lend me a hand on that part so I may improve the chapters so the story could be better. Also it'll help me if I were to start another story. =] Constructive critiscsim is okieee I suppose, just don't be too mean. I am just a kid. Thanks a bunch, b l i x
If you want to gradually progress in general and need a trained objective eye or need feedback on a specific story (if so, please state which one)
What your goals as a writer are (hobby, self-publishing, publishing, etc.)

This has the potential to be fun :D

It's almost enough to convince me I've posted in the wrong thread :P
