Feel like a chat? I found this group tucked away in a dark corner of the site. It seems to be a devoid of chatter - so I thought I might dust it off and revive it a bit
- Hello, my name is Alic - joined the site fairly recently, don't know anyone (Apart from deathlywriter - Hi ya!) So if you feel like you're in the same boat, come and leave a message - about anything! .

@Alic It does seem a little lacking in chatter, haha, but that might be because it's not a very active group :P

Greetings, Alic, I'm Alley :)

Sorry, didn't mean to barge in and start re=arranging the furniture, 8-))
But I kinda felt a bit guilty gatecrashing sites of people I don't know just to say Hi! Then I saw this group and thought ... that's exactly what I need, somewhere to just chat and meet people. Do you mind if I make it a bit more active by posting inane chatter and random thoughts on it?.

Aaaah - yeah, I hate it when work gets in the way of doing things I'd rather be doiong ....
Do you? - Work to live? or Live to work?
I have pondered over this question ... if you say "I work to live" - it suggests I don't really like work..... but what if you do like your work ....
If you live to work - this suggest then that you don't get time to do all the things you want to do ... but if you like/love your work then your doing what you you love anyway ....
Mmmmm.... thoughts?

I most definitely work to live, haha. My job is only a 12 week contract, and I'm halfway through. Absolutely hate it there. The staff are all horrible, I've gotten RSI in my back, neck and shoulders from it, and it's so mind-numbingly boring. Not to mention people instantly look at you and treat you like you only have two brain cells for working on checkouts.

Oh no, that's terrible ... Why are all the staff horrible? Perhaps you should include them in a story and make them the bad guys? Mmmm - you'll know who they are ...make them suffer! (In your story only ... of course)
And boring .... just look at everyone with a view to making them into a character of your next story ... little old lady with her dog? Hunky, tanned bloke with the muscle T-shirt - mmmm, no guessing his place in the story.....
- Warnng though - when you're sat there looking at people you don't know (or people you do know for that matter ..) and you're thinking up stories around them Do not smirk! Do not grin! and definately, definately Do not laugh out loud - they'll think you're crazy, and then they really Will look at you as if you only have two brain cells!!! ... Does any of this help?

Remeber - Smile....it makes people wonder what you're up to!
He,he,he ..... I did warn you it would be inane shatter and randowm thoughts, didn't I? 8-))

It's hard to explain why, they just are, haha. One of my supervisors requested that I hide my water bottle from the view of customers as it somehow affected my image of "happy to help". Basically, it would've made me seem less like a smiley robot, and more like a pained human.
I usually think up ideas for new and existing stories of mine while I'm at work, but the only issue there is I have no way of writing it down until I either have my lunch break of finish my shift, ahaha.
Aha, company policy where I work is that you have to talk to your customers while you serve them, regardless of whether or not they want to be spoken to -_-

You did indeed. And I must say, your assistant looks lovely :)

Ah - my assistant.. well that's a bit of an in joke. My cat is my editor - she does all the filing, corrections editing and the like, and she gets paid in cat biscuits. So, when this little endeavour makes us all rich and famous -- she will be the 'fat cat' of the operation!! Ha,ha,ha ...
The other member of our team is the dog - she's the locations director!
.. she takes me out for walks where scene settings take shape, she gives me an excuse for wandering aimlessly around outside observing people and places - (without looking like a complete wierdo)
there's her job of introducing me to interesting people I wouldn't otherwise have the nerve to talk to - she's a great opening for a conversation and then I get to listen to their life stories - or that of their pets
I get to walk in the fresh air, looking at woodland, or riverside, or wherever and recharge my batteries
.... she may be small, but I do firmly believe my dog is truly Awesome!.

But, most importantly they make me laugh - everyone should laugh out loud everyday - not ALL day, obviously, people would understandably think you completely bonkers if you did that!! - but at leat once every day

And if you were reading that last post and going Awwwww ... have a read of my poem titled 'Our Morning Walk - it shouldn't take you long to read it - and it will probably make you at least smile, but hopefully leave you chuckling.
And if you own a dog - sound familiar?
