For this month's contest, I want to focus on one of the most beloved genres in literature: fairy tales!
Compose a flash fiction piece of 300 - 1,000 words in length. The piece must adhere to the characteristics of flash fiction -- you must have a protagonist and a conflict, although whether or not this conflict is resolved is up to you. Your last and most important rule is that you must choose a fairy tale and imagine what happens next. For example: You know how Cinderella meets her Prince Charming and they get married and live happily ever after? Well, it's the "happily ever after" part I'm talking about. What happens next?
It can be written in whatever point of view you like: first, second, third; singular or plural; omniscient or not. Your choice!
You have until February 14 to enter. Write your entry as you would any other story on Protagonize, and then come back here and provide the link in a comment so that we can read it.
I will be announcing the winner on February 15th. Good luck! :D
P.S.) Sorry there was no contest in January. My grandmother passed away suddenly in January and I took some time off to be with my family. Thanks for your understanding!
Okay, here is my attempt at the challenge. I incorporated a few subtle nods to classic fairy tale (and some not so subtle ones) to try to make up for the freedoms i took.

oh and i know the ending is a little rushed I wanted to get something in this month and i leave for San Francisco for two weeks. I hope you enjoy...
Thank you both for entering! I had a hard time deciding, as both of your stories were so good, but in the end I chose Silent's entry, "Three Questions." :D
