For this month's contest, I want you to write from a different point of view -- that of the opposite sex!

Compose a flash fiction piece of 300 - 1,000 words in length. The piece must adhere to the characteristics of flash fiction -- you must have a protagonist and a conflict, although whether or not this conflict is resolved is up to you. Your last and most important rule is that it must be written from the first-person point of view of the opposite sex.

You have until December 18th to enter. Write your entry as you would any other story on Protagonize, and then come back here and provide the link in a comment so that we can read it.

I will be announcing the winner on December 19th. Good luck! :D
Um . . . I haven't written much stuff before so, er, what's the first person?
And I'm also not entirely sure what a protagonist is :S

@CrazyCay No worries! I'm here to help. :)

A protagonist is the central hero of a story. That would make an antagonist the villain of sorts.

Stories can be told from three different perspectives: 1st person (I, We); 2nd person (You); or 3rd person (He, She, They, It).

For the purpose of this story, you have to write the story as if you were someone of the opposite sex, from their point of view. For example, I'm a girl (last time I checked, anyways :p), so my story will be from the perspective of a guy told in 1st person. Here's a dumb example of a sentence that could start off a story told by a girl in the voice of a guy: Dude, I couldn't believe my eyes when she walked in the door. She was like the answer to a prayer.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

If you want to see an example of a story I told from a male's POV in first person, go here: http://www.protagonize.com/story/fireflies

I can't wait to read your entries! :)

Is there any topic or theme we have to follow?
naw, you need more I's in there! I stared at her long legs, her curvy hips, and bouxom chest. I think I was in love! LOL..
I'm in..
I'll think about it..
Group Manager
@CrazyCay Nope. You pick the topic and theme. Go nuts. :D

@ElshaHawk: Yayz! Can't wait to read your story. :)
Ok! I'll do it! I'm so excited!!! :)

Oh wait, if we say the kind of stuff like ElshaHawk did as in Curvy hips and stuff, does that mean it can be Mature, or preferably not?
Group Manager
@CrazyCay So long as it's not too suggestive, you don't have to worry about marking it Mature. I'll let you know if anything.
Haha Ok, Thanks again!
Flash fiction in the POV of the opposite sex?
Perfect excuse to write the next chapter in a story I'd semi-abandoned.

I'm in :D

@Traxisk Go for it! Don't forget to come back here and post the link to your story. :)

@wickedmirror I hate being away from Protagonize (and writing in general), because it makes me feel ... incomplete in some way, you know? Or maybe I'm just crazy, I don't know. But I do know writing = happy Ana Cristina.

@wolf: Thanks for getting the ball rolling! :)
Heya so well here we go!

I don't know why it gave the IP address but whatever, if you don't wanna trust it you can go to my profile and get it through there i suppose or search.

Anyways it's based heavily off the Wheel of Time series so if you like that Yay! and if you don't *shuns*

lol enjoy!
I'm in Anna. A thousand words you say? After NaNo that's a snap, but writing from a man's point of view/ Not so easy. I'll take a shot at it though.
