Hey guys, I've been working on a story for quite some time now and realized that it might be more fun with some other authors and ideas thrown in :) it's a post apocalyptic story with vampires, werewolves and a new species showing up that is kind of like a shape shifter. I have some sketches and ideas behind the species if anyone is interested in seeing them. Basically the idea is that a super bug wiped out most of the human race, the supernaturals have always been around but since the humans are I'm danger the vampires decide to make their presence known and help rebuild. There are 7 species of vampires identified by their eye color. There are only a handful of werewolves left who aren't crazed from the disease and some are running rampant with the crazed wolves enjoying the chaos, some scavenge and some help. The new species used to live under ground, they have forms designed for moving about under the earth but can duplicate almost anything they see. Not well at first, sometimes they don't get the home structure right or miss details but they eventually iron out their look. Their place in the story is still undecided... I figured there'd be two colonies on the two land masses. The one in europe is pretty backwards like olden days with women basically being slaves where as in the one in north America women almost run it. I figured I'd start in the European colony, with the vampires trying to gather the humans together... Still a very rough idea, I need some help bouncing ideas off of other people :P anyone interested?

So, are the vampires protecting the surviving humans to keep their food source? I suppose they could be quite self-interested and some humans are against the treatment they're getting. The individual/or group could be trying to escape from the vampire regime, and they stumble upon the shifter species.

So, what are the differences between the 7 species?

I'm sure there's more then enough roles for everyone :) there are a few key roles, like leader of the vampires, the pure blood werewolf guards, the first of the new species I find the humans and of course lots of humans are needed, both ones that live in the colony and ones that will be found and brought back. I'll get more of the information on the vampires together granted I still have the info and write up a better summery. How do you guys want to do this? On here, over e-mail or we can set up a website for it.

I'd love if my human was living in the wild and got tracked down by a vampire...would i be able to have two characters possibly? Then I could write for the vampire who tracks her down and brings her back as well :)

i'd love to join. would love to be one of the shifters, but maybe some wolve's attacked the group i was with, and now i cant remember much, maybe that can lead to something else if im found by one of the others?

I'd be really into writing for a vampire. Maybe one of the colonies of the 7 species is dying out for some reason, quite rare, either powerful and feared, or weak and looked down on. If that would work, I'd be happy to do that.
Or a vampire in general, maybe a particularly evil one. I haven't been an evil character in a while ;)

My vampire if I'm allowed to have one alongside a human would be a little odd and random and slightly bi-polar :) (I'm re-using a character since the original collab he was in died)

Alright, I figured I'd make a brief list, I still haven't tried to track down the finished write ups on the races but you can read what we started with here ---> http://effortlesssimplicity.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d1r9xr2 pretty much all the write ups on the races are finished. We have another species that I still need to do a wrote up on. Main roles that need to be filled are as follows:
-leader of the vampires (was thinking there would be three but there could be just one. It will be a Varacolaci)
-3 pure blood werewolves
-leader of the humans (also ambassador to the leader of the vampires)
-first shifter to find the humans

Then normal roles would be
-rabid werewolves
-traveling humans (normally in larger groups as there are a lot of werewolves)
-trackers (groups of vampires sent to find the groups of humans)
-colony humans
-colony vampires
-rebal vampires
-hunters (vampires sent to kill werewolves)

I figure everyone can have between 1 and 3 main characters then play a couple of side roles when needed. I'll look on my other computer when I get home to see if I have the finished write ups on the species. Aoife would you be interested in the vampire leader? The race is almost dead, they're the most powerful vampires but most humans die of they try and turn them. Cat feel free to have two characters but maybe someone else's vampire could track you? Otherwise you'd basically be writing your own side story. Two nerds, have at it! I'll post some

And yeah go ahead and write them up, if you want to be a vampire you can decide a race later on, the Upyr is the most common and isn't as vicious as it says in the current write up, only when hungry. If you want to be a shifter then you can find out more about them later. They have two main forms... Actually if anyone wants to be a shifter would you mind icing me your e-mail? I'll forward you the drawings my friend designed for me...

Name: Elias
Age: ??? (looks early-twenties)
Species: Vampire; Vourdalak
Description: Short, styled blond hair and coal grey eyes (contacts), slender build concealing his strength, 6'0 tall, very pale skin. Usually always a childish grin plastered across his chiselled face.
Personality: Elias is a bit of joker with a sometimes manic edge to him. He doesn't tend to take thing very seriously and those he meet who do, he calls silly, immature name's. Elias has an obsession with top hats and enjoys freaking people out for kicks. Elias will go to the ends of the universe to protect someone he cares for. Though he is generally a happy person, when he feels down, he's goes to the extreme.
Mini Bio: Elias has been alive for a extremely long time and is part of the very first line of vampires to ever exist. Though his various half brothers and sisters have turned people into vampires, he himself never has. Believing a mortal existence to be a gift.

Age: 19
Species: Human
Description: Out-of-control wild fiery curls and piercing jade eyes. Short, 5'7. Rich caramel skin tone marred with various scars. High cheekbones and thick lashes, a frown is almost always on her face.
Personality: Noel is stubborn and mistrustful. She'll do anything to survive and has long cut herself off from her emotions, seeing them as things that got in the way. She always thinks logically and hates surprises.
Mini Bio: Noel was born into the current world and doesn't know anything else but running and surviving day after day. She grew up with a small travelling group of humans who refused to be under anyone's thumb. Her mum died early on in her life and she never knew her father.

With Elias I've set him up as one of my three kinds of vampires, if the description is close to one of your kinds then let me know. If there's nothing similar I'll just make him a normal vampire. :) - Don't worry, figured it out for myself ^^;; Hope these are fine :)

Name: Nicolae

Age: Unknown - appearance - mid twenties

Species: Varacolaci

Description: Shocking white-blond hair, reaching the jawline, blood red eyes. Tall, 6'3 (though not commonly noticed as he often sits), lean and pale-skinned. Long, black nails, a piercing in his left lobe with a moonstone gem.

Personality: Feared and respected as the leader of the most powerful race, though his attitude is nonchalant. He has a dark humour, and often finds Elias infuriating by his pranks, though they remain friends to ally the Varacolaci and Vourdalak. He is usually calm and composed, but so help those who release his temper. His ability to control lunar cycles and eclipses means that the Lycanthrope remain on his good side lest he tamper with their shifting cycle (I wasn't sure if the Lycanthrope change with the moon as werewolves usually do. If not, no worries.) He takes a keen interest in human women, and unlike Elias, changes them without care, though loses interest in them soon after he's had his fun.

Mini-bio:He was elected as the leader of the Varacolaci by majority vote, though it wasn't his wish to have so much responsibility. He first met Elias during a night hunt, who chided him for recklessly turning victims. Though Nicolae acts as if he hates him and puts up with him for the purpose of the treaty, he trusts Elias most of all and counts him as his only friend. He instructs his Varacolaci lessers to attack Noel's travelling group and kidnaps several of them...

He sounds awesome :D I somehow imagine the other Varacolaci don't understand why Nicolae puts up with Elias haha xD

I think they'd make a good team, and potentially rather funny :P
Elias sounds great too, especially the part about him going to extremes. I imagine him going rogue after losing somebody he loves (a human, maybe? Killed by another vampire race?)
