So, I was playing snakes and ladders with my little sister when this idea came to me.
Basically, some kids from the age of thirteen to sixteen get picked to play this "game" which is called snakes and ladders. But, because just some kids playing snakes and ladders would be boring, it's much more than just a board game.
Have you ever seen that game show The Cube? It's British, so if you don 't live in Britain then you might not have. But anyway, basically you get placed in this glass cube and you have to complete these tasks given to you and it's all a matter of skill. It's really quite good.
Anyway, this "game" is a mixture of snakes and ladders, and the cube. Only, it's a lot more dangerous than the cube, and your life is quite at risk. It's a race, but not to see who can get to 100 first, it's to see who can make it there at all. (Dun dun dunnnnnn).

Anyway, I have this basis for the characters, but I really don't mind if you change it a bit, as long as you keep the background stuff. You choose the names and appearance. You may also add anything you wish.

Girl #1 [authored by me] - age 15. Is dating boy #2. Incredibly shy and nervous, which hides her intelligence, much to her disadvantage. Has a mysterious locket-bracelet that she refuses to take off.
Girl #2 - age 13. Extremely competitive, and expects to get her own way as a result of being brought up much like a spoiled brat. Being the youngest doesn't help her situation.
Girl #3 - age 16. Quite confident in that she will win, but her seeming lack of ability to be good at anything makes her seem like kind of a drag-along.
Boy #1 [authored by dancingshoes14] - age 14. Is generally suspicious of most things, especially things he doesn't understand. It makes him seem like a complete douche.
Boy #2 [authored by starwarsfreak117]- age 16. Is dating girl #1. Very protective of those closest to him, although can sometimes come off as a little possessive, and mean.
Boy #3 [authored by Shally16] - age 15. Team - it's his favourite word. All he seems to care about is teamwork, and is maybe a little too selfless.

Appearance: On the short side at 5 foot 1, is very skinny. Has brown eyes and dark ginger hair.
Personality: Intelligent, but this is hidden by her very shy and nervous nature. She doesn't really like to talk to anyone, and keeps her feelings well hidden.
Other: she wears a locket bracelet on her left hand, which she refuses to take off. No-one knows what's in it or why she wears it, as it isn't the most attractive piece of jewellery.

I'll put the story up now, and then when we get a girl 2 and 3 they can just join in.

Right, starting the game should be referred to as "rolling a six" because that's one of the ways we decide what order we go in at my house. The other way is age order, but I don't think that would quite work here.
Also, you haven't rolled a six until you get out of the first room. This room has a series of tasks based on intelligence and skill. This is the hardest room to get out of, but by no means the most dangerous room to be in. Everyone starts in this room.
Going down a snake must involve a downward motion, like falling or sliding down. Going up a ladder must involve an upward motion, like climbing something, or being launched up etc.
The rooms are all numbered, and the order you appear in them can be completely random.

PS: do either of you know anyone who would be willing to be either girl 1 or girl 2?

No. Lily (moi) doesn't know what he thinks about it because he's never mentioned it before. She just guessed he'd assumed it was a personal thing.
