hi there, erm...this may be a bit of a ridiculous and common question but do you ever feel like certain chapters of your stories can "too long" or droning on a bit?

if so,what is the best length for a chapter (say, 2000 words?) and also, how do you fix the feeling of your story being too boring?

If you have not interviewed William Gibson yet--I figured a few ironic questions would work, referencing his work on the script for the movie Blade Runner (only because Philip K. Dick, author of Do Andriods Dream of Electric Sheep, the book Gibson's screen play was based on is very very dead)

Question: Tell me in single positive words about your mother?

Question: You are celebrating your birthday. A child gives you a leather wallet. What is your reaction?

Question: You are invited to a fancy dinner in a foreign country. You see that what is being served is roast dog--what do you do?

Question: What would you do if a wasp flies into the room and lands on your arm?

Question: You are walking in the desert. You see an over turned turtle. You do not flip it over. Why do you not flip it over?

I dunno--I tend to enjoy the interviewer messing with the interviewee as a form of joshing, and figured William Gibson would get a kick out of these.

@Harlot I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure William Gibson is signed to one of Penguin's sub-publishers, not Random House. 'Course, I guess I can go ask them if they want to run author interviews, too. ;)
@nickb ah, fair is fair. I really do not keep track of who publishes who really. I just keep track of what authors I love.

I mean--it is entirely possible that a publishing group could be behind a major world disaster with the death tole in the upwards of hundreds of millions. And I'd turn a blind eye as well--they sell my favourite author.

Note to self: Start book publishing company.
