Hey all!
We're about to send out another round of questions to our authors, so we're wondering...

What would YOU like to ask an author?

We're open to swapping a few questions in/out, so let us know what you'd like to ask.

Cheers,
Cass
Do you outline and if so, how detailed is that outline?
How do you write your dialogue? Do you ever feel like you're having trouble making it feel natural?
What are the benefits of writing out of order, i.e. not chronologically? How do you go about creating realistic, flawed protagonists?

Do you ever spend as much time developing the world your characters live in as you do writing the story?

I tend to find, reading back, that description in my own work often feels flat and lifeless. What kind of techniques do you use to really bring your descriptions to life? Do you tackle such things straight away or write down the 'core features' and add life to it in latter stages/rewrites/edits/all of the above?
If writing becomes a chore, and you feel like you're just plodding through it, almost as if you despise it before it hits the page, does that mean it's best to take it from a fresh perspective or to tough your way through until it feels fluid again?

Note: Folks, I'd suggest using the thumbs up toggle on any comments you agree with or would also like to hear answers to, so we don't duplicate anything (and it'll make Cass' life easier. :)

Great questions here, peeps! Keep 'em coming. We won't be able to use them all, but we'll definitely choose a few.

What did you do immediately after hearing that you were being published for the very first time?

Stickied so we can keep track of responses easily. :)
I am writing a story and want to improve it. I want to get into my characters heads. I tried writing it out but I kept making them like me instead of their own person. I want my characters to be interesting, that the readers would want to meet or be like. Do you have any advice or help???
2 questions:

Which is harder, coming up with the story line/plot or your characters and how they're going to act like?

and

Do you use a web when you write like we'r taught in elementary school?

Do people ask you why you write? & How did your story come to be? What's the easiest way to get published? Who is your favorite author (besides yourself)?
and, people give me greif for this all the time-
Is there anyone else who just types with one hand?/Do you have to type with both hands?
Are there any books/websites/software you recommend that helps you with your writing techniques or methods? (e.g. visualthesaurus.com)

Do you listen to music whilst you work? If so, what kind.
What's the first thing you do when you have an idea that you want to write about? Do you just simply start writing or do you try to develop your characters first or what??

Congrats to @Eloosive and @RedheadRose! We are including your questions in the next round for our Summer authors.

- What did you do immediately after hearing that you were being published for the very first time?

- Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind?

Thanks!
