The bridge

He stared dumbly at the pieces, at the little shards and the porcelain crushed into powder. What.....what have I done?!!  He had lost his temper. His control.  He had lost exactly what Harriet had told him their engagement was in the balance for.But no. He had to turn his attention to more urgent matters. Namely, the menace screaming his head off in the distance of his mind.....

Suddenly, it didn't matter anymore. He felt more alive then he had ever felt before. A strange elation filled his heart, and he smiled. A long, slow, smile.
