Amethyst: Practice

Amethyst peered at the brass plaque on the door. Amethyst Ballasty. Yes, that was her name. She turned the handle and it swung open as if it was gliding on air. Unfortunately for Amethyst, she couldn't, and as soon as she opened the door, she found herself falling. She screamed and flailed her arms.

"Stop! Stop this incessant noise!" She turned and was surprised to find there was a little man falling beside her. He seemed quite unperturbed. In fact, he was enjoying a cup of tea, drinking the liquid as it flew through the air. Amethyst became still. The man stared at her for a long time, and when she finally felt that she couldn't take it any longer, he spoke.

"Do you know who I am?" He had to shout over the roar of the wind.

Amethyst spit some hair out of her mouth. "No!"

"I am your guide. Since you are in character development I am here to help you develop your character." Amethyst nodded.

"Now I want you to stop us from moving."

"But I can't!"

The man let go of his empty cup and it flew away. "Of course you can. You're telekinectic, aren't you?"

Amethyst thought about this. She had never done something like this before. Then again, this was a strange place. After a few tries she brought them to a standstill. The man nodded encouragingly.

"Good show! Now if you please, could you set us down somewhere?"
