Highly Commended

I've 'humm'ed and 'hah'ed about this one for absolutely ages. Some of my favourites feel like they ought to go here - for instance, Peter Valis by Lee, or Broken by Pantalaimon.


But for me, there's just one clear winner. If it described a character more, it would have scooped up first place, at least in my opinion.

I really didn't want this piece to go unnoticed, because I think it's one of the best things I've had the pleasure to read on this fantastic site.
