Just the thought of one of the Shadows coming here to Vikrum Acadamy was pretty scary, but the fact that he wanted something from Garret was just down right 'oh my god he's gonna kill me' scary.
"He wants to see me. Tomorrow night." Garret said as I helped him lay on the couch. I sat by him staring off at the clock that now read 2:37 a.m.
"What?! That's insane! No... It's suicide!" I panicked.
"That's what he kinda told me." he said.
"Kinda?" I asked wandering if he had the same abilities as Lilianna.
"I'm guessing he's like Lilianna. Maybe a seeker? But he looks way to strong to be one." he confirmed my thoughts.
"Oh," was all I said. "I'm coming with you." I said shifting my gaze back at Garret.
He sat up quickly and his eyes filled with terror. "No!" he said instantly.
"Why not! Me or Lilianna are supposed to be with you at all times! Besides, there is no way on Earth that I'll let you face a Shadow alone," chills were sent down my spine as I thought about what could happen to Garret if he went alone.
"Then let Lilianna come." was all he said as he laid back down covering his eyes with his arm.
"But why?" I asked.
"First off, I don't think that he would kill me. It's not in their nature. And next, Lilianna's his daughter. He wouldn't hurt her." he paused then took his arm down. "And if anything happened to you because of me, I don't know what I'd do." he frowned.
"Yeah, the might not be killers but he's big and buff! What if you're big mouth gets you in trouble and he decides to snap your neck! I'm going," I said as I stared at him.
"No. You're. Not," he said firmly and I was taken back.
"Fine," I grumbled as I went into the kitchen. I grabbed a cup and filled it with water. I brought it back and placed it by Garret's mouth. "Drink." I demanded.
He downed the whole cup and I got some more. I placed it on the table and just sat at his feet. I flipped on the TV knowing that I wouldn't be getting much sleep tonight, but that didn't matter. Tomorrow was Saturday. I had plenty of time to sleep if I got tired.
From the corner of my eyes I saw Garret's eyes close for a bit, but then open. He must be tired. I thought I went back into my room and got my blanket. I laid it over him. I felt like a mother, tucking in her child. I smiled as he sighed. He looked so calm when he slept.
I turned off the TV and reached out for my laptop and began doing research on Theodore.
