I stared at Garret as he left to feed. I can trust him. I just know he wouldn't do anything bad! But I gave in to the temptation to follow him. I went into my room with a sigh and grabbed my jacket.
I quickly followed behind Garret as he walked to the feeders area. I watched him in the dark. I watched every movement and I watched how he reacted. He would pull away a bit, but then go back in. I could tell he was fighting his bloodlust, but then I heard a voice.
"So now you don't even have the guts to kill your own food? You're still so pathetic!" I knew that voice. It was Arren the flirt. Great.
"Turned Vampires," I heard a female. It was Avalon! What the heck was she doing here? I just waited to see how this would turn out.
"What do you want with me?" I heard Garret say as I could see his eyes in the moon light that his eyes were still red. Damn.
"Aren't you hungry?" Avalon called as she revealed her neck.
There was a long pause and I saw something move behind Garret, but didn't notice.
"Hazel," someone whispered. "It's Lilianna."
I didn't say anything back. I was too distracted in how Garret was coping.
"He's trying," but as soon as she said that Garret gave Arren and Avalon a deadly glare.
"No, I'm not thirsty, but thaks for the offer." He just stood there while Avalon took a step forward.
"Oh really?" she said with her hands on her hips.
"He's giving in!" Lilianna whispered, and I could feel the stress in her voice.
"That's enough!" I said grabbing Avalon by the shirt and slammed her against the wall.
"Hazel!" she said shocked.
"You know what? The deals off. You got to have fun and Garret got his blood. He doesn't need you anymore. Now get lost before I tell Head mistress what you 'intended' to do." I let her go and when Arren tried to follow her Lilianna grabbed him.
"And where are you going?" Lilianna said holding a tight grip on Arren.
"Who knew you would stoop down so low," I said walking n circles around him. Inspecting every last bit of him. "Wow, and Avalon of all people?"
"Hey," he said getting a little defensive. "She's a nice girl. Leave her alone." He threw Lilianna's hand down and walked way.
I flew to Garret and I could see that he had clmed down a bit. "Garret..." I said trying to search his eyes for anything.
"I'm fine Hazel," he took my hands that were on his face and brought them down and dropped them, but they lingered there for a second.
Then, to ruin the moment. I yawned. He chuckled. Lilianna giggled.
"Looks like someone's just a bit tired." he smiled.
"Yeah, just a bit," I laughed.
"I'll go on ahead. I need to take a shower," Lilianna said. "Later."
Garret rested his arm on my shoulder and pulled me in towards him. "Hey, thanks for just then." I smiled back.
We walked slowly back to our little house and it felt like that day at the pond that we had just came back from just hours ago happened all over again.
