Odael- Docking

After Alexican joined Arien and I, a silent agreement passed between us. It seemed as if it were the perfect day, and there was no need to talk, no need to say anything to ruin it. So we stood there, silent and happy.

Of course that didn't last long with Valour.

"Hey guys! The captain offered to show me how to drive this thing!" Valour called out, waving his arms frantically.

That got Alexican to whip her head around at an alarming rate. "Oh no you don't. Not after last time." She rushed over to him, full throttle, and grabbed an arm, twisting it behind his back.

"Ow! I was kiding! Just kiding! It was a joke!" Valour tried getting out of her grip, but to no avail.

"Another joke like that, and she might have your head!" Arien joked, as Alexican let him go.

"Hey guys, look!" Lace caught our attention, pointing in the water.

It was land, and not just a small scale island either. It was an actual continent, and it looked like heaven.

"You going to sink this ship to?" Jevin asked Valour, grinning widely.

"Not today, Jevin." Valour laughed, clapping Jevin on the back. This surprised me. The two were getting along, and nothing sarcastic about it.

It took us most the day, but we docked and helped the sailors take some cargo off the ship, as payment. Heading towards the nearest town, I hoped for a good meal, and a warm bed. It was astounding what we found instead.

"Welcome beloved visitors!" A duke stated, ushering horses and flowered crowns at us. "We have heard of your travels, and are very humbled to have you honor us with your presense."

"I think you've got the wrong group. We haven't done anything honor-worthy. Or anything good, at all." Rerin explained, flinging off a cape that had just been placed around his neck.

"Ah, but you have. You are the group after Ukaor, right?" The duke nodded toward me, noticing my nobility.

"Yes, but we haven't had much luck." I admitted polietly.

"Guys! Let us get what we deserve!" Valour mouthed, basking in the glory. Of course he was right at home.

"Yet you are heroes. We admire anyone who is couragous enough to place themselves in Ukaor's wrath. And that is why, we will celebrate you." The duke turned to the people, who were already begining to crowd the street."There shall be a feast, in their honor, tonight!" The crowd roared, excited at the prospect of food. "There shall be much to eat, and plenty of dancing!"

The duke winked at me, and I blushed, not sure what to make of it.

"You will be there? Surely, you won't let me down?" He asked, taking my hand and kissing it lightly.

"I- We will be there." I promised. This was a nice change from what we usually got, and a good break from fighting for our lives.

"Perfect! Now let me show you to where you shall be staying for the night!" The duke led on, and the group followed after him on there new horses.

I lingered behind, watching the crowds cheer us on.

"Come on princess, we don't want to be left behind." Jevin, who I hadn't noticed before, was stone-faced, looking straight ahead.

"Okay." I nodded, and gave the command to my horse to trot, and Jevin followed after.

Somehow I got the idea that he was mad at me, although I couldn't entirely place why.

The End
