Tia left quickly from the kitchen, obdviously she didn't want to talk about it.
"Why doesn't she like it?" I asked.
"She doesn't like it-" Keith stopped and listened for her to go upstairs, then leaned in to me and lowered his voice. It got deeper too, and I must say, alot hotter. I leaned closer to him to, thinking that this was a secret or something.
"She doesn't like it because of her visions." I cocked an eyebrow at him and he smiled. "Whenever she touches someone, even the lightest touch, like this," Keith lifted his hand and touched his fingers to my right bare arm, leaving a trail of heat.
"Mhm," I answered, telling him to continue but not trusting my mouth to say anything.
"She can see their entire past," he removed his hand from my arm and put it back on the table, I shivered. "She can know everything about them, their emotions, their memories, literally everything." My eyes widened.
"She touched me," I whispered and Keith chuckled.
"Well then, I'll have to get some dirt on you off of her," he winked at me and my heart did a flip in my chest. I smiled at him. "Are you done?" he asked, pointing at my glass.
"Huh?" I was a little zoned out, "Oh! Yeah," I giggled and he picked up my glass and got up to put it in the dishwasher. I watched him, his muscles rippling under his shirt. My head was literally exploding. How could someone so gorgeous even show a little bit of interest it me?
"So, what about you? I don't have to get everything off Tia do I?" he asked, sitting back down and pulling his chair closer to me so that our knees touched.
"No," I replied, laughing. I was laughing alot tonight, "I kind of, well, my parents were weird. Dad always traveled for work, and Mom was never home. I'm an only child, and both my parents died two years ago, just before, this happened," I said, motioning to my body and lifting up a chair on the other side of the table, "Although, I can't complain about the powers." I laughed and put the chair down. "I grew up in Canada, and then we moved here when I was around 14. But now, I guess I have enough time to travelthe world if I really wanted to. Heak, I could do it 600 times, more even." I thought about this, and had to choke back tears.
"You okay?" he asked. I looked down and he lifted up my chin, looking me in the eyes.
"Yeah," I replied, "It's just, I'm never going to see them again. Not now that I'm immortal. I'm never going to be able to die, I'm never going to get sick, I'm never going to be able to experience the light at the end of the tunnel." I sighed and looked straight into Keith's eyes. "Do you think I'm missing out?"
"No," he said firmly, he was still holding my chin in his hand, "Believe me, there are many things in life that can make up for the 'light at the end of the tunnel'," he smiled and I giggled. His hand was strong and warm on my chin, and when I felt him tug lightly on my chin, I felt like my heart had melted. He moved in towards me, his eyes and mine closing slowly in unison. I could feel his breath on my face and then, footsteps on the staircase. I heard him sigh quickly as he pulled away as Tia came down the stairs. I looked up at her, smiling. I lanced at Keith and saw him glaring at her.
He'd wanted to kiss me! I thought, Yes!
