CONTEST: Win one of two autographed first (Canadian) editions of Yann Martel’s new novel, Beatrice & Virgil. See author guidance for details!

Dear Yann Martel:

I think I am one of the 10 people in Canada (nay, the world!?) who has not yet read Life of Pi (what's wrong with me!?). So I opened Beatrice & Virgil with no expectations whatsoever, and I came out of the other side needing to talk to someone about it. Compare notes. "Did you feel what I felt when...?"

As I suspect it will be for thousands of readers, the "Games for Gustav" at the end were the ultimate hammer to the nail through my heart.

Beatrice & Virgil is simply astounding. Readers will be haunted long after they turn the last page. And then they'll want to read it again.

Now, I will turn back the clock and read Life of Pi because I've discovered for myself (not from what everyone else in the world is saying) that you are a brilliant storyteller who can affect my heart and mind with words. I like that.

Regards from a faithful reader,

~cass~
