Hello everyone, and welcome back to the writing exercise! I know I have been gone for a long time, but that doesn't change the fact that you need to get those muscles and bones ready for writing! Now, we've covered what you do before you write, and writing, but what do we do after writing? That's right! We've got to know how to type our story!
So for this exercise, everyone will need to sit their tushes down at their desk and hold your hands over your keyboard. And now, we are going to do an exercise I call the "impatiently waiting", which is where you put those fingers on that keyboard and drum on the keys like you're impatiently waiting for a date, or an employee! To do this, hold your fingers over the common letters that they are over on a keyboard (A, S, D, F, J, K, L, ;) and, starting with the pinky, slowly press all eight fingers on their keys, and when you're done, lift and repeat! Ready? And.. press, press, press, press, LIFT! Press, press, press, press, LIFT! Press, press, press, press, LIFT! Press, press, press, press, LIFT! There you go! Now you should do these about thirty times, and when you're done, if you were actually typing on a blank page, it should look something like this!
Very good! Now of course, we forgot the thumb! Now for the thumb, we have a very special exercise! First, we touch our thumbs together and hold them over the space bar. Then, take the thumbs and smack the space bar! Be sure not to touch the space bar with your fingers, or you'll end up with letters, and we don't want that right now! Get your thumbs ready. And... Begin! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Very good future writers! Very fine space bar smacking there! And because this is a very simple exercise you may want to do this up to one hundred times! If you were doing this on an blank page it should look something like this!
Excellent! Now the exercise you've all been waiting for, thinking of a story! But not today writers, join us next time for "The Writing Exercise"!
