I read To Kill a Mockingbird, thats not it but, that is most of it. I did not promise a very interesting story. I read In Cold Blood two weeks before I read To Kill a Mockingbird. My choice of Nelle's title over Truman's does not prove my preference, I'll take Perry Smith over Scout Finch any day. However, I'm not menacing, I attempt to be, but so many people are much better suited for the job, so I thought that some combination of the words Cold and Blood would be a pretty large deceit. Instead, I went with Mockingbird. Mainly because I find it amazing that two people who were at one time best friends, could be so connected and so far away. That two of the most seminal works of 20th Century could be written by buddies who used to try and catch a glimpse of Boo Radley together. I've never ever had a friend like that. I thought that maybe if I slipped my Mockingbird into the world, I could find my Blood.
Much more simply, for those of you that skip ahead, I love the music implied in a word like Mockingbird
