Max

"Great food." I said to Tia, after taking a mouthful. I still wanted more explanations, but I was hungry, and this food was beautiful.

"Thanks" she said grinning. Everyone was silent while they were eating, and I felt uncomfortable. I wanted the conversation to start. I didn't know what to say though. These were all people I never would have normally hung around with.

I was the first to finish, and I put my fork down with a bang.

"Sure ate that fast." Zander said, grinning.

"Hey, I was hungry." I laughed back.

"Well, I'll take that as a compliment." Tia said to me.

"So, Zander. Do we get a choice in keeping these orbs. It sounds pretty dangerous." I said, leaning back. Unfortunately, I leant back to far, and the chair fell making me fall to the ground with a thud. The others all burst out laughing, and I blushed in embarrassment.

"Okay, okay. Shows over." I said, but I started to laugh too.

"Are you all right there?" Miya asked, though she was trying to hold back her giggles. I nodded, and sat back down.

"Anyway, as for your question. I'm sorry Max, but this is your destiny. There's no getting out of it."

I nodded, already expecting that answer.

"Can Sam come in here?" Denis asked, shovelling the last mouthful into his mouth.

Zander shook his head.

"No, this house is protected. Only us can enter, unless we invite some one in."
