Sam: Running...

"You can play the bass as well?"

"Well yeah, sort of. I learnt it ages ago, so now it just comes naturally to me if I want to play it. So come on, please?"

 "Well... Ok then"

"C'mon out with it!" I say exasperated and half angry. By the look of this guys face I was being scary. Well if he's going to be mean then he's got what's coming to him.

"Sam, don't be like that, he was only trying to help me." I turn around and look at Kezzy.

"Right" I say trying not to get too worked up again, "Then why was he ignoring me? And the way he looked at me..."

"No you have it wrong. He just feels intimidated by you. I mean, who wouldn't? But not in a bad way..." she says trying to be careful.

I look at the guy again, "Right I'm sorry about that, but I'm obviously disturbing your alone time with Kezzy." I grin trying t make it into a joke. He then goes a bit red and looks down.

I wink back at Kezzy and turn away to find that girl who I saw earlier.

"Hey so you're new here, right?" I ask, turning away from the practicing room, letting those two be.

"Well yeah, umm my parents sent me here to find myself... so." She blinks, and goes quiet, looking at me.

"So that was your voice back there...?" she asks.

It was my turn to go pink and replied "Yeah, but I was ad-libbing, so it was kinda bad."

"I thought it was amazing!"

"Really? Na, anyway enough about me.  What do you play?" I ask, feeling like I'm being over friendly.

"Well..." she starts but suddenly I hear voices from down the corridor. I indicate for her to be quiet.

"Yeah, I heard she has moved to the South tower! Ha-ha, she's so ridiculous sometimes. You know what I think she should do, she needs to be shown a thing or two by yours truly..."

I grab Nick's arm and we start running in the opposite direction. No way do I want to hear any more of that disgusting creep.

We stop outside a larger, multi-purpose music room, which in all the instruments are electrical, so you can plug in headphones and only listen to what you're playing.  It is a great room but if you get carried away, other people are watching you, and generally start laughing at you.  We walk in, looking at the different instruments laid out neatly ready to be played. Someone with their back turned, was playing something I couldn't make out. We go over and sit on some the chairs which are situated to the far side of the room.

"So instrument?" I say indicating for her to speak again.

"Well... I've learnt how to play the drums recently, and well... apparently I have a talent." She says.

I look at her, "Well let's hear it then!"

She looks at me with big eyes, "I ca..ca..can't" she gulped. "I've never played on an electric drum kit before."

"Oh don't worry; it's just the same really. Well so I'm told. If it'll make you feel better I'll play a bass backing for you."

"You can play the bass as well?"

"Well yeah, sort of. I learnt it ages ago, so now it just comes naturally to me if I want to play it. So come on, please?"

 "Well... Ok then"

The End
