Pixel whispered something, and then lightly placed a hand on my arm, obviously trying not to wake me. I was already awake, though. I felt an intrusion in my mind, and I could tell she was searching for yesterday's vision.
I moved my hand to keep her's on my arm, and brought up the more recent one, one I had gotten while I was sleeping.
In that vision, Pixel and I had found all of the ingredients for the elixir we needed to make us immortal.
Her hand froze.
"Mornin', Pix." I said, not bothering to open my eyes. "So, we gonna search for the ingredients today?" I smirked the slightest bit, already knowing her answer.
"Yeah, I guess." She mumbled.
I opened my eyes and sat up. "I'll be back in, like, five minutes. Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."
She glared at me.
I closed my eyes for the briefest moment, and quickly figured out where Tovek was.
"I'll be baaack!" I sing-songed.
I skipped off to where he was hiding, gliding over the island unseen. I waited until I was directly behind him before I spoke.
"You know the vision I said I had about you and Pix not being able to be together? I did have it, but then I had a couple of others."
"Okay..." He replied, not really understanding.
"Tovek, if it meant you could be with Pixel without either of you dying, would you be willing to become immortal?"
"What?!" He said, incredulous.
"Tovek, you know I have the gift of Sight. Well, I have also had the training to become a Healer... And I was working on an elixir before the ship wrecked... And one of my visions was that Pix and I were able to find all of the ingredients I need. And that I actually got the elixir to work. And, though I didn't show her this part, there was enough for one more person. I just made you both think that you couldn't be together, also causing Sidion to believe it. It was a trick."
He stared at me in silence for a long moment.
"Tovek, please." I pleaded.
He nodded slightly.
"There is one catch... You two can't act like you know that you will be able to be together... Until you've both had the elixir. We have to keep up the pretense of the trick."
Tovek nodded solemnly. "Okay. I understand."
"I have to go, I told Pix I would be back. We'll try to finish the elixir as soon as possible. Just don't lose faith in me, please." I spun on my heel and headed back to Pixel's hut.
