Elena; Pain

The pain was excruciating; this was no ordinary vision. I couldn't see anything of the actual world, the present, all I saw was the deep dark waters.

I had no control over my vocal chords, though I was somehow speaking. "Be afraid! For he is coming, the end, the destroyer, he will sink this island and all who inhabit it into Atlantis!" I gasped, feeling unable to breathe. The sand wasn't so soft when I crumpled to it. "Not such a great day after all..."

I whimpered, I shook; I was no longer in control of my own body. I searched for my voice, trying to call for help. "PIXEL!!!!!!" I wailed, an earsplitting screech. "PIXEL!!!!"

I might not have been in control of my body, but I could surely feel. I writhed on the ground, like a fish out of water; it felt like fire was licking at my veins. I felt the air move beside me, letting me know that Pixel was there.

"What do you need me to do, Elena?" Her voice was somber, almost dead sounding.

I struggled to voice my words. "Take my hands, place our palms together. Do you remember what I taught you, how to harness and control the Healing energy that you have? If you don't, I'll have to help you circuit mine through you and back to me; I can't use it on myself without another."

"I remember."

"Please, Pixel." I grit my teeth together, trying not to scream. "Hurry."

"I will, Elena." She whispered.

She held my hands still and placed them palm to palm. Quicker than I expected, I saw the pale yellow Healing light in the place of the dark waters that seemed permanently etched into my eyelids. The pain faded, though it was still there. Now it was just a dull, bearable ache.

I forced my eyes open, and my face had to've been a mirror image of Pixel's; pure, undiluted shock and fear. "Dear God, Pix."

She nodded silently.

"Pix, you have two years before you become immortal, don't you?"

"Yes..." She replied hesitantly.

"This is gonna sound crazy, but seeing as we cannot get off of this island, it's our only option."

"What is it, Elena?"

"If I can find all of the ingredients, I can make something to make us immortal, so we don't have to die."

"That does sound pretty crazy, but if it's our only option..."

"It is."

The End
