I remember coming round just once, a faint blur of a blue, feline face looking down at my green one, I remember thinking the blue girl and the green boy, a match made in a rainbow, then i fell unconcious once more.
I finally awoke, Pixel sat across the large crackling fire, legs crossed and eyes closed.
"What happened?" I asked.
"You fell, from a pretty big height, your bird, Ava, she took the fall and..." a sombre look crossed her face and her head drooped. I knew the answer before she said it, felt my stomach ripped from me, "she didn't make it, she sacrificed herself for you," she stood up abruptly and turned away, "looks like your trapped here like the rest of us, sorry about that," there was a bitter tone in her voice, it didn't register, it was all I could do to keep the tears from falling down my cheeks.
"Where are we?" I looked around I realised the ground was made of wood, it was hard though I didn't feel it, and large wooden posts around the perimeter held up a thatched roof. There were no walls just railings looking out into the forest. I could tell we were high up, on stilts.
"This is my hut, I found you after you fell and brought you here, Ava is outside, we can have a proper burial for her before the scavengers take her apart," she sat down again, a faint smile crossing here face, it was pretty.
"Anything else I should know?"
"The second ship, it held two men, the knight Ren and his First Mate Roger.
"There is another, a strange man, a hunter, he comes and goes, I think he is building something, a boat from the timbers of the ship and another, a blue boy was washed up on shore, he calls himself Olivio, but talks little, he seems upset."
"And the wave-runner?" I questioned.
"Wave-runner? I have not heard of this," she frowned and sat next to me, placing a berry in my mouth, "eat this, it will bring back your health," I bit it, it was sweet, juicy. I smiled with red teeth, she laughed a tinkling laugh, "Mosamo!" she walked away, "it means idiot."
